About Lisa Catherwood
Lisa lives and works in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The stuff of life – water, light and human relationships inspire her work. , Lisa has had a long journey through ill health, and the experience has naturally fed into the work, much of the work is a reaction to confinement. It is vibrant and colourful and energetic.
Working in many, often mixed media, always looking “to capture spirit and light”, Lisa has made, exhibited and sold work in pen and ink, watercolours, painted glass and mirrors, pastels, acrylics and oils. Lisa has also worked with photography and digital art media and animation.
In recent years, particularly inspired by the cote d'azure and Mas de Cadignac in the south of france, she has returned to work in oils. Often joined with a new passion for enamelling on copper and using gold and other metal foils in mixed media pieces.
